 ADVANCE YOUR  KNITTING

Teacher & Designer : Nancy Crofoot 

Saturday August 21st  from 3-6pm

The intent of this three hour class is to review basic knitting skills and introduce a variety of more advanced techniques, including:

*   pattern reading and resourses

*    discussion of materials & tools

*    gauge

*    3 ways to cast on

*    3 ways to cast off

*    pairing increases and decreases

*    "reading" your knitting

*    dropped stitch rescue

*    ripping our to a destination row

*    joining new yarn and weaving in ends

*    washing and blocking

*    cable stitch - make a tiny owl

Cost : $20.00 plus materials if you don't have them on hand

Supplies needed:  light colored worsted weitght smooth (not fuzzy) wool yarn, size 9 or 10 or 10 1/2  straight needles approximately 7-9 inchs long, a cable needle or smaller sized double pointed needle and willingness to learn and have fun!! 

 Supplies will be available at D'Vine for purchase if you don't have them on hand. 

Coffee, tea and a treat will be served for the class

The first week of October we are hoping to have Carol Martin the owner of Hoppy Yard Spinnery and designer of our beautiful Farmhouse yarns here for several days for a trunk show and she will be bringing a great supply of her newest yarns to sell.

Carol grows all of her sheep on her farm and hand dyes all of the colors herself!! 

Once I have firm dates, I will post them.
